As a leading provider of services to large fleet customers, such as car rental firms and insurance courtesy cars, Camden Corporate Fleet Services also offered vehicle delivery and taxation, and operated new and used car dealerships.

In the year to December 2007, it had a turnover of £884m and profit before tax of £4.6m.

An MBO/MBI was supported by a £26.4m investment by Equistone Partners Europe.

THE EXIT

Following a sharp downturn in market activity in late 2008 and unsuccessful negotiations between Equistone and the company's bankers to agree on a restructuring proposal, the company was placed in administration in 2009.
